Leaving Death Valley and Taking the Promised Land

For weeks now I have been tired and weary. I have been asking the Lord why I feel so drained, but did not get an answer. Last night as I was falling asleep, I saw a vast desert behind me. I heard the Lord speak and say child you are so tired because you have just walked across the vastness of Death Valley (the valley of the dry bones). Then I saw this is where so many of the Lord’s children are in this very hour.

Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

The Lord showed me so many weary soldiers that have been walking through this desert. They pass a spot and think wait this looks familiar, have I been in this place before? I hope I am not walking in circles. They are falling on the ground and begging the Lord to deliver them from this desert that they have been in, what seems to be their whole lives. The Lord is reminding me that the throughout the Bible it talks about accounts of the Lord requiring his children to go into the wilderness place. The wilderness is not a fun place to be, but this is the VERY place that we learn from Him. This is the place that we learn that He is faithful to provide for us and where He provides the manna from heaven and where He springs up water from the deepest underground places, to quench our thirst. It is a great place of learning, as long as we do not become grumblers like the children of Israel. It is this place that the Lord shows us His faithful hand at work.

Then the Lord said to me, “If you feel like you have been in the wilderness your whole life, for this means the wilderness is your birthplace. Take Heart, My love and remember that the children born in the wilderness, to the children of Israel is the generation that got to enter the promised land.” You are a blessed generation and THE generation that will NOT pass away before the promise is fulfilled. I feel that many of us are exiting our place of wilderness, as I saw the end of the desert being closer that we envisioned. The Lord is getting us ready for the mass exodus out of this wilderness place of pure dependence on Him and taking us to a place that now we will equip others and enter our Promised Land!
