For the last 4 years the Community I have worked at has been under construction. As I have been going through this process the Lord has been teaching me. There was dust and dirt people busting out walls and rebuilding the sounds or saw and hammers all through the day. As I would walk into a building that was completely gutted with only the foundation walls still standing the Lord would tell me “can you see the damage behind the walls and the foundation with boards or sheet rock over them?” I would answer back with No you can’t, He said “exactly you must take off what is over top hiding the damage beneath the surface.”
I feel the same is true for the body we have been Under Construction for a LONG time now. This is a dirty, filthy, and sometimes even smelly place to be. Just as when we open those closets of our life, these are the places that have been shut for so very long, sealed off never to be opened to that pain again. When they are finally opened and the dust settles we find a big mess that we and the Lord must sort through the pain and the senseless of some of the old hurts. The Lord is telling us that, with your Yes He will open the door and get rid of this garbage, like it never even happened. He will sort through the pain and the root of the problem repairing the very foundation of who we are so that when He starts building other things on top of that foundation the walls do not crumble on top of itself.
“But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.”
