YOU SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUIT

By Tiffany Bretana

The times we live in are quite difficult. We face battles and threat of wars on different fronts whether naturally or spiritually. But as children of God, we are not unawares of the enemies devices. I write this because there is something on the Lord’s heart that He wants to address in His body. Yes, His body. Many of us, who have chosen to pick up our calls, gifts, and anointings, need to make our election sure.

2 Peter 1:10-11 Therefore, believers, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you be sure that your behavior reflects and confirms your relationship with God; for by doing these things actively developing these virtues, you will never stumble in your spiritual growth and will live a life that leads others away from sin; for in this way entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly provided to you.

In the above verse, Simon Peter is telling the body of Christ to make your election and being chosen of God sure by behavior that reflects and confirms your relationship with God. One of the things the Father speaks to me quite often, is Tiffany you shall know them by their fruits. Are they bearing good fruit or bad fruit?

Matthew 7:15-20 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

I make NO reputation of myself. My title in the Kingdom does not supersede the fact that I am a daughter of the King first. But, I have seen enough incidents within my lifetime, there are those who use their title to lord it over people, and make mention of it quite often. I am a person of honor, which means if the Lord reveals to me someone is walking in an office, then I will honor them as such, as onto the Lord, without mention. But, the Lord has been revealing much to me lately of those who do not have the fruit to match that which they have been called to. One of my spiritual fathers, said to me, you don’t need to talk about that which you demonstrate. What does that mean to me and you? The behavior, actions, and fruits of a person will match their relationship with the Lord. And even simpler terms, their actions will speak for themselves. In fact, the Lord did not lord it over anyone. If they questioned who He was, He didn’t outright say I AM the Christ, the Messiah, the One to come. He let them receive it by divine revelation. When you are one who has a relationship with the Lord, your actions, behavior, and fruit will be evident. You don’t need to talk about it. Here are two scriptural references of the same account. But notice, in the second account which I included an additional scripture, the Lord demonstrated the authority He had, and it was evident, nothing necessary to be said. He didn’t need to justify Himself to anyone. He let the Father do that.

Matthew 7:28-29 When Jesus had finished speaking these words on the mountain, the crowds were astonished and overwhelmed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as one who had authority to teach entirely of His own volition, and not as their scribes who relied on others to confirm their authority.

Mark 1:22-28 They were completely amazed at His teaching; because He was teaching them as one having God-given authority, and not as the scribes. Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit; and he cried out terribly from the depths of his throat, saying, “What business do You have with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet muzzled, silenced, and come out of him!” The unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions, and screeching with a loud voice, came out of him. They were all so amazed that they debated and questioned each other, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits demons, and they obey Him.” Immediately the news about Him spread everywhere throughout the district surrounding Galilee.
